The Austin Design and Visual Arts Network (ADVAnet) is a group for designers and visual artists of all types, including professionals, job seekers, students, and those curious about getting into the field. We usually meet once a week, with two meetings a month during the day, and two or three meetings in the evening. We were formerly known as Austin Texas Design and Media (ATXDM) from July 2009 to July 2012, and before that it was founded in 2003, called simply Austin Designer Meetup. We're Meet …

This group was originally founded for creative Austin singles to help identify themselves and find one another but is now expanding to include all creative people in a relationship or not. What is lifedrawing? It is the artistic study of the nude human figure from observation of a live model. In my opinion, it is the best way to learn how to draw. The studios I post meet at either the Dougherty Arts Center or at the Austin Visual Arts Association. Tuesday and Thursday morning figure drawing studios from 9:30 am to 12:30 require an RSVP. Wednesday afternoon studio also requires an RSVP. The Sunday afternoon, Monday evening and Thursday evening studios are first come/first served …

Artists of all levels are welcomed in the group. The group is organized by artist/instructor Laurie Mann of LZM Studio and I am available during our drawing sessions to teach, give tips and help beginners. It is my intention that we all grow and lear …

This group was started because many artists in Austin are less interested in chatting about their art (though it's loads of fun and will be part of all future meetups) and more interested in creating and selling it. The purpose of the group is to develop new venues to display and sell visual art. The people who will join this group are primarily working artists who may not make a living or work full-time at it, but have ambitions to do so or at least keep art as a major part of their lives.
Real Writers is called Academic because it is designed to be like a workshop you would take at a big university, where the instructor would take seriously the fundamentals of literary techniques and straightforward criticism about member writing in order to understand those techniques. Real Writers is a literary workshop in which substantial literary ideas are developed in order to facilitate 'real' writing both in the form of literature and in related media. Any writer or artist could potential …
SA Visual & Performing Arts revolves around the San Antonio arts community in and near the Downtown area. We visit museums and galleries, studios, theaters, and other visual and performing arts venues. And we also get together just to enjoy one another's company.
